HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE (2004) **1/2

This was one of the first twenty-something buddy-flicks to have Asians as the title characters. It was refreshing. They didn’t play up the stereotypes too much which was nice. They played typical American guys (with some issues surrounding the fact that they’re first generation Americans). It’s the other characters around them, on their journey to White Castle restaurant (to ease their “crave”), that display stereotypical behaviour, and usually not in a positive manner.

There were some genuine laughs, some that fell flat. There were obstacles to overcome, both on their way to White Castle (so much went wrong) and within themselves.

One of the highlights was Neil Patrick Harris playing himself, very funny.
