AMERICAN GRAFFITI (1973) ****

What could be more perfect than crusing around all night in a "boss" car, picking up girls, going to the "hop", a clever script, and a wonderfully talented young cast, supported by classic Rock & Roll of the late 50s and early 60s? George Lucas was one of the first filmmakers to use music to such an important degree, so much so that it can be considered a character unto itself.

Centering around a group of recent high school graduates this movie stays above the typical teenie-bopper-high-school flick. Taking it’s course over a twelve-hour period we feel like we’re right alongside each one of the characters as their adventures take them to the early hours of the morning.

If you haven’t seen it, put it on your list, and if you have, see it again and again and again. It’s great to begin with and gets better with each time it’s viewed.
